Theater Latté Da and more than 400 friends, artists and patrons will gather at Quincy Hall on Thursday, May 18, 2023, for the TWENTY-FIVE YEARS OF SHOWSTOPPERS GALA, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Twin Cities' foremost producer of new and reimagined musical theater.
Heather Raffo's NOURA, a variation on themes from Ibsen's A DOLL'S HOUSE set within an immigrant Iraqi family, serves as the mainstage anchor for an ambitious, multi-month series of four shows plus a distinguished panel talk at the Guthrie Theater. Collectively, these comprise the theater's Celebration of Arab Artistry. It's been a vital, eye-opening, boundary-crossing initiative. Three dynamic new works from Isabella Dawis and Tidtaya Sinutoke, Dylan Thomas, Cerys Matthews and Mason Neely , David Simpatico and Michael Holland will each receive workshops and public presentations beginning Saturday, July 6.
Theater Latte Da announces the cast for award-winning playwright Harrison David Rivers' (Five Points) latest play, To Let Go and Fall. This newest play-with-music by Rivers marks his eighth produced work. New York-based director Sherri Eden Barber helms the production in the Twin Cities with original music composed by Minneapolis-based Jelloslave cellists Jacqueline Ultan and Michelle Kinney. Performances begin May 29 at the Ritz Theater (345 13th Avenue NE in Minneapolis). Single tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Latteda.org or by calling 612-339-3003.
