International Stars And Florentine Opera Favorites Come Together For VIVA OPERA! Celebrate opera's greatest hits with the Florentine Opera at Viva Opera!, March 16 and 18 in Uihlein Hall at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Hear the pure power of nationally and internationally acclaimed opera singers in this concert featuring some of the world's best operatic pieces.

London's Kate Royal makes her Milwaukee debut following appearances at the Metropolitan Opera, Paris Opera, English National Opera and Royal Opera Covent Garden. Royal will be joined by baritone Keith Phares (Sister Carrie 2016, Three Decembers 2016, Elmer Gantry 2010) and soprano Rena Harms (Three Decembers 2016, Carmen 2012). They will also share the stage with other Florentine opera stars, the Florentine Opera Chorus and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for a night of big voices and big music.

This spectacular concert features favorite arias, ensembles, choruses and symphonic overtures from operas such as Madama Butterfly, Le nozze di Figaro, Carmen, The Pearl Fishers and many more. Works by Beethoven, Puccini, Mozart and other famous composers will take the audience through centuries of comedy, tragedy and romance.

"Both long time opera fans as well as new-comers will delight in a veritable smorgasbord of beloved operatic favorites," said General Director William Florescu. "Maestro William Boggs will lead the forces of the Florentine Opera Chorus and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, joined by a stellar cast of soloists, led by world renowned soprano Kate Royal."
