Tipping Point Theatre (TPT) will continue its 16th theatrical season on November 29, 2023, with the Southeast Michigan premiere of A Very Northville Christmas by Robert Hawlmark and directed by Williamston Theatre's John Lepard.
You've most likely heard the age old adage, 'the show must go on' whenever things are going horribly wrong. Widely used in everyday life to help us all look on the positive side of a situation and carry on, The Play That Goes Wrong grasps on to the phrase for dear life and refuses to release it from its death grip until the actors' final bow.
Tipping Point Theatre is back in action and ready to create the live professional theatre you know and love. After shutting down their 13th Season halfway through due to the pandemic, their 14th season is gearing up to be one of their best yet
he 39 Steps, playing now through March 8th at Tipping Point Theatre in Northville, is a hilariously challenging fast-paced comedy! Richard, an average English man, meets a mysterious woman that whispers secrets to him on her deathbed. Fleeing the country becomes his only hope for survival and solving the mystery of the 39 Steps. A parody of the 1915 novel by John Buchan and the 1935 film by Alfred Hitchcock of the same name, The 39 Steps mixes the thriller genre with humor in the style of Monty Python.
The 39 Steps, brings a heightened production of intrigue and mystery to Tipping Point Theatre starting January 30th. This highly challenging show dashed with unique elements of action and comedy is sure to delight audiences and keep them on the edge of their seats.
A Doll's House is a play studied by students around the world. A production ahead of its time, it questioned the traditional roles of men and women in the 19th-century. This message, while not well received at the time, was essential to the forward movement of theatre. A Doll's House, Part 2 , written 140 years later by Lucas Hnath, aims to answer the question of what happened where Henrik Ibsen's classic play left off?

A block down from Downtown Northville's historic Main Street sits a white brick building on the corner of Cady and Griswold Streets. The full garden draws patrons to the front doors and into a cozy and modern industrial lobby, fit with new paint and carpeting. This is Tipping Point Theatre, a professional theatre that has been quietly producing high-quality stage shows for the last 12 years.
Ken Ludwig, the master of farce, brings us A Comedy of Tenors, the sequel to his 1989 Tony-winning Lend Me a Tenor, which is running through December 23 at Tipping Point Theatre. If you haven't seen Lend Me a Tenor, fear not, as this script and production certainly stands on its own and you can enjoy it just as equally. And, of course, with every great farce-a la Neil Simon's Rumors and Marc Camoletti's Boeing Boeing-- comes a lot of door slamming (an integral part to Monika Essen's posh set) and mistaken identities pulled off with comical finesse by Tipping Point's cast of seven.
Tipping Point Theatre is at 361 E Cady St, Northville, MI.
The Tipping Point is that one dramatic moment in an epidemic when everything can change all at once…and we’ve reached it in a BIG way! From operating as a “vagabond” theatre company under the umbrella of the Parks and Recreation department, performing in any empty space we could get our hands on and paying actors with smiles and applause – we opened in 2007 with big changes – tipping point changes! Incorporated as a professional, non-profit 501(c)3 organization in the state of Michigan, Tipping Point Theatre opened its doors as a professional Equity theatre company in our permanent facility in downtown Northville. TPT is currently under the direction of James R. Kuhl and led by Board President Nannette Ret. Join us in fulfilling our mission by continued participation as an audience member, actor, designer, donor and advocate for theatre in Michigan. Looking forward to seeing you “at the Point!”
