Farmers Alley Theatre continues to innovate online with Spotlight Sessions Vol. 2: “Songs in the Key of Mom” to celebrate Moms everywhere this Mother's Day!
Farmers Alley Theatre is honoring the life of one of America's greatest playwrights, Neil Simon, with his Pulitzer Prize Winning masterwork, Lost in Yonkers, running March 13-29. Farmers Alley Theatre is also pleased to announce that thanks in large part to several local organizations, we will be reinstating our Student Ticket Initiative for this production, which provided free student tickets to those who wish to attend the show (subject to availability).
This February, Farmers Alley Theatre will present the West Michigan premiere of a delicious slice of American life, The Cake. Written by Bekah Brunstetter (writer and supervising producer of NBC's hit drama a?oeThis is Usa??), this ripped from the headlines story has been called a?oerefreshing and hearteninga?? by the Los Angeles Times. Directed by D. Terry Williams and starring Zoe Vonder Haar, The Cake runs February 7-23 at Farmers Alley Theatre, right in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo.
Farmers Alley Theatre is thrilled to open its 12th terrific season with a new chamber version of one of literature's greatest tales, Lerner & Loewe's soaring classic, Camelot a?" running October 4th through the 27th. From the iconic composing team that gave us My Fair Lady and Brigadoon, Lerner & Loewe's lush score will soar like never before at our downtown Kalamazoo home at 221 Farmers Alley.
Farmers Alley Theatre concludes its eleventh season with the Tony Award Triple Crown Winner (Best Musical! Best Book! Best Score!) that's part flesh, part felt and a whole lot of heart. The hilarious puppet musical Avenue Q will be running July 19th through August 11th at 221 Farmers Alley, right in the heart of Downtown Kalamazoo. With a smart and clever script by Jeff Whitty, and joyous and tuneful songs by Robert Lopez & Jeff Marx, Avenue Q is the exact kind of entertainment we need right now that's both emotionally moving and riotously funny.
