Cal State Fullerton Announces Spring Theatre & Dance Season

California State University, Fullerton's Spring 2019 season includes "The Cherry Orchard," "Lysistrata," "Heathers The Musical," and "Spring Dance Theatre" all on the CSUF campus, running March through May.

Opening the season is "The Cherry Orchard" by Anton Chekhov, directed by Maria Cominis. The play runs from March 8-24 in the Young Theatre on campus. Following the Chekhov classic is "Lysistrata," inspired by Aristophanes, adapted by Ellen McLaughlin, and directed by Rufus Bonds Jr. running from April 12-May 5 in the Hallberg Theatre on campus.

Mean girls, Heather, Heather and Heather, rule Westerberg High School in the Broadway hit "Heathers The Musical" (a hit in 2018 in London's West End). Misfit Veronica Sawyer rejects the evil high school girl regime for her dark, dangerous new boyfriend, J.D., who plans to put the Heathers where they belong-six feet under. "Heathers The Musical" features book, music, and lyrics by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe, with direction by James R. Taulli and choreography by Courtney Ozovek. The production runs from April 19-May 5 in the Young Theatre on campus.

Concluding the 2019 Spring Season is "Spring Dance Theatre," running from May 2-12 in the Little Theatre on campus featuring vibrant, premiere performances by CSUF dancers and choreographers.
