KHALID KI KHALA is a farce in Urdu with hilarious comical twists and delightful moments. It has been adapted by Begum Quidsia Zaidi from the english play “Charlie’s Aunt” by Thomas Brandon. The play centres around three three college boys in a highly conservative society that frowns upon any casual mixing between boys and girls. So in such a situation how the two boys in love profess their feelings for their beloveds, when they are prohibited to meet and how they eventually come up with a pretext to meet the girls and involve the third boy in their capers that leads to a hilarious situation.

About the Group:
IPTA Mumbai has been an active part of the theatre movement in the country for over six decades having staged over 100 plays in different languages, including Aakhri Shama, Sufaid Kundali, Bakri, Africa Jawan Pareshan, Ek Aur Dronacharya, Hori, Lok Katha, Moteram Ka Satyagrah and Shatranj Ke Mohre among many other landmark productions. IPTA works with the objective of using theatre as an instrument for building social awareness and for the education, entertainment and inspiration of the people.
Current productions include Ek Baar Phir, Kaifi Aur Main, Girija Ke Sapne, Biwi O Biwi, Tajmahal Ka Tender, Hum Deewaane Hum Parwaane , Shatranj Ke Mohre. Aaall izz Well with Shuturmurgh , Kabuliwala and Kabuliwala Laut Aaya.. To promote young talent it has been organising an Inter Collegiate Drama Competition in memory of Prithviraj Kapoor since 1972. IPTA Balmanch, its children’s theatre wing conducts workshops as well as stages plays for young audiences.
