Biwi-O-Biwi deals with the theme of modern male chauvinism and how the modern woman stands up to and fights against it. A middle class woman can no longer be treated like a doormat. There are certain prevalent values in our society that are binding, but there is a limit to everything. The play revolves around the relationship between the main protagonists, Dr.Pawan Soorma and his wife Pooja.This is a super-hit, star-studded comedy play from IPTA. It has had successful shows in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Dubai, Chennai, New Delhi, Muscat and other cities.

About the Group:
IPTA Mumbai has been an active part of the theatre movement in the country for over six decades having staged over 100 plays in different languages, including Aakhri Shama, Sufaid Kundali, Bakri, Africa Jawan Pareshan, Ek Aur Dronacharya, Hori, Lok Katha, Moteram Ka Satyagrah and Shatranj Ke Mohre among many other landmark productions. IPTA works with the objective of using theatre as an instrument for building social awareness and for the education, entertainment and inspiration of the people. Current productions include Hum Deewane Hum Parwaane, Ek Baar Phir, Kaifi Aur Main, Sarphire, Kashmakash, Biwi O Biwi, Tajmahal Ka Tender, Moteram and Shatranj Ke Mohre. To promote young talent it has been organising an Inter Collegiate Drama Competition in memory of Prithviraj Kapoor since 1972. IPTA Balmanch, its children’s theatre wing conducts workshops as well as stages plays for young audiences.
