Actors must be fully vaccinated. An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

BREAKDOWN

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical
mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas
are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the
extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and
dressing rooms.

SYNOPSIS: This lively, unpredictable comedy asks what we owe our parents and our children. Lou
needs a kidney. Yesterday. His daughter Raina’s got one to spare, but she’s also got issues. (Plenty of
these.) Like, how come the sonofab*tch had sex with so many women who weren’t her mother? Time
leaps backward, forward, and sideways, secrets get aired and truths revealed in this sparkling
comedy.

SEEKING:

Lou Ziegler: CAST – Tony Abatemarco

RAINA LAMOTT: Mid 20s–30ish; white; woman. Lou’s daughter. Independent. Struggling single
parent. Resentful of her father.

MARLENE: CAST - Karole Foreman - 50ish; Black; woman. Jarrell’s mother. Independent, practical
and compassionate; Doubles as Dr. Abenea Badu – Lou’s doctor, who speaks with an African accent;
and Barista.

JARRELL: Mid-late 20s; Black; man. Marlene’s son. Intelligent, thoughtful, observant. Doubles as
Hector - a nurse who speaks with a Dominican accent.
