Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Harper Lee, To Kill A Mockingbird is a timeless story in every sense of the phrase, as it keenly and imaginatively examines the very core of the human condition. Young Scout considers her father to be an ordinary man, but the events that are about to unfold will change that notion for the rest of her life. Atticus’ kindness, careful consideration, and desire for justice will leave an indelible mark on his daughter and a small town in Alabama, 1935.
Male roles

Jem – (11-15) Scouts older brother, all American boy, protective of his family, kind, coming of age.
Dill – (10-14) Summer neighbor and friend, small with a big personality, precocious, smart, innocent and quick. Heck Tate – (30’s to 50’s) Sheriff of Maycomb, gentlemanly and good natured.

Nathan Radley – (Flexible) Imposing but somewhat removed person, weathered and worn.
Boo Radley – (Flexible) A recluse and a legend, large and imposing.
Tom Robinson – (20s – 30s) Falsely accused, handsome, strong, crippled left hand, friendly, a good father.
Judge Taylor – (50s – 70s) A man of justice who clearly abides by the law, clearly sympathetic to Tom.
Mr. Gilmer – (20s- 40s) Public prosecutor, doing his job, sense of humanity under it all.
Bob Ewell – (30s – 40s) A drunk, desperate and poor, believes the trial will make him an important figure.
Female roles
Scout – (7-12) Inquisitive, loveable, feisty, a bit of a tomboy. An innocent and sweet natured child.
