Equity actors for chorus parts in THE WIZARD OF OZ (see breakdown).

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Revisit your childhood in Frank Baum’s beloved classic story of Dorothy’s magical journey to OZ and back, with all the wonderful songs from the award-winning movie. The show will get a special REP treatment with actor-musicians, delightful new arrangements and an imaginative setting -- in the intimate environment of Capital Rep’s new theatre facility.

https://forms.gle/6fzrhXd9WaNcdAH9A . Submissions accepted: October 4th, 2022, 8AM-10PM ET. Proof of vaccination must be submitted with audition video and resume/headshot. PLEASE NOTE: We are interested in knowing if actors play instruments: banjo, fiddle, trumpet, flute, woodwinds.

BREAKDOWN

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:

SEEKING:

Note: Understudies for principals (Wizard, Dorothy, Glinda, Wicked Witch, Uncle Henry, Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion) will be cast from Ensemble members.

MALE ENSEMBLE, 20s-40s, Any ethnicities. Maximum height: 5’5”. Strong pop singer-dancers for a variety of roles in the world of OZ, including the Tornado, Munchkins, Crows, Apple Trees, Poppies, Winkies, the residents of Oz, and Jitterbugs (who perform a lively jitterbug dance number). Pop voices, tenor or baritone/bass. Dancers need skills in modern, ballroom (jitterbug) and some tap and ballet. The dancer/singers should be energetic with lots of personality and a great sense of fun. All Ensemble members sing and dance.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE, 20s-40s, Any ethnicities. Maximum height: 5’3”. Strong pop singer/dancers for a variety of roles in the world of OZ, including the Tornado, Munchkins, Crows, Apple Trees, Poppies, Winkies, the resident of Oz, and Jitterbugs (who perform a lively jitterbug dance number). Pop voices, soprano or alto. Dancers need skills in modern, ballroom (jitterbug) and some tap and ballet. The dancer/singers should be energetic with lots of personality and a great sense of fun.
