PREPARATION
Please prepare a brief traditional musical theater song from the show or in the style of the show. Bring sheet music, in the correct key, as an accompanist will be provided. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together and your Equity card. Please bring dance shoes and clothes in case you are asked to stay and dance.

SEEKING :
MARIA RAINER -20 to 30 years old, female. Spirited, passionate and charming, though occasionally filled with self doubt, caring and committed; chest mix with strong head voice; principal.
CAPTAIN VON TRAPP -30 to 50 years old, male. Strong actor, commanding presence, retired naval officer and proud Austrian. Highly organized and regimented, efficient and smart; baritone; principal.
ELSA SCHRAEDER -30 to 50 years old, female. A wealthy widow, she is sophisticated, charming and clever; legit-mezzo range; A-E below high C; principal.
MAX DETWEILLER -40 to 60 years old, male. Witty and clever impresario who can be charmingly pushy when pursuing what he wants; strong character actor with good sense of comedy; baritone; principal.
MOTHER ABBESS- 40 to 60 years old, female. Wise, kind and strong; powerful chest and head voice; mezzo or soprano (B-Ab); principal.
LIESL VON TRAPP- Female, 18+ to play a 16 year old. A teen on the verge of womanhood; innocent, naive, and initially infatuated with Rolf. Chest mix with a head voice (low G-F#) and comfortable with dance; principal.
ROLF GRUBER -Male, 18+ to play 17 year old Epitome of clean cut, athletic German youth; self important but pleasant, he can be somewhat aggressive; lyric baritone; must be a comfortable with dance; principal.

ENSEMBLE
FEMALE ENSEMBLE - Characters are 30-60 years old. Women with Mezzo-Soprano voices to play nuns, house staff and party guests. Movement and dance skills a plus. Features include Sister Berthe, Sister Margaretta, Sister Sophia and Frau Schmidt.
MALE ENSEMBLE - Characters are 30-60 years old. Men with Baritone and Tenor voices to play Nazis, House staff and party guests. Features include Herr Zeller, Admiral Von Schreiber and Franz.
