Preparation
Please sing something that shows off your range in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in correct key. A score will be provided if singing from the show. Please bring headshot and resume. Accompanist will be provided.

Breakdown

The show will be playing at the Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton from 1/31/14 to 2/16/14 and will then be transfering to Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center for two additional weekends from 2/21/14 to 3/2/14.

The roles of Leo Bloom and Roger De Bris have been cast.

Max Bialystock – SEEKING CELEBRITY, but will consider all. Male, 45-55 – Caucasian. Character bari-tenor - desperately charismatic, fallen impresario, hanging on by a thread. Brilliant and honest comedic actor that can make this role his own. He must be overweight and preferably under 5’7, but not required.

Ulla - Female, 21-40 - Caucasion, belt to Eb - Swedish sex kitten bombshell, blissfully enthusiastic, intellectually vacant. Extremely great and honest actor that is excellent with subtle comedy. We are looking for a woman with sexy curves and moves extremely well; dancer preferred and must have great extension.

Carmen Ghia – Male - Caucasian, 30-40 - tenor - overwhelmingly flamboyant, meticulous, opinionated, loveably waspish. Excellent and honest comedian with a great sense of timing. Actor who moves well preferred.

Franz Liebkind – SEEKING CELEBRITY, but will consider all. Male - Caucasian, 20-50, baritone - Nazi soldier turned tortured playwright, devoutly committed to a romanticized version of Hitler and the Third Reich, can flip from dangerous to nostalgic to cheerful in a schizophrenic blink. Excellent comedian and proficient with a German accent. Must be very coordinated.

Springtime For Hitler Tenor – Male, 20-30 – Very handsome. Must look very German and have a gorgeous tenor voice. This role comes out of the 7 male ensemble mentioned below.

Male Ensemble - 20s-40s – All ethnicities. Looking for 7 extremely strong singers and character actors with a strong understanding of Golden Age musical theater stereotypes, all must move extremely well, some must tap. All featured roles will be cast from this group of men.

Female Character Ensemble - 20s-40s – Caucasian. Looking for 3 amazing character actors who are incredibly strong movers (or dancers). Tap skills a plus. Must be strong singers and excellent part singers. The roles of the little old ladies, Shirley, Usherettes, etc. will come from this group. All physical types welcome.

Female Ensemble - 20s-40s – All ethnicities. Looking for 6 extremely strong dancers who sing and act with a strong understanding of Golden Age musical theater stereotypes. These 6 women MUST tap well and have excellent extension. These six women must be tall, sexy and statuesque showgirl types, 5’8 or taller; prefer ladies 5'9 or taller, but will consider 5'8 and up. These women should come in character heels that are 3 to look tallest possible. They must be able to sing; strong singers with good part singing skills is preferred. Some featured roles such as the usherettes may also come from this group of women as well.
