BREAKDOWN

Jerry Lukowski (30-40 / Tenor) An unemployed mill worker, fighting to maintain his pride and the custody of his only son. All-American jock and the definitive man's man. Spontaneous. Very prideful.

Dave Bukatinsky (30-40 / Tenor) Jerry's best friend and fellow unemployed mill worker. Very much a man's man, but more of a follower than leader. The definitive sidekick. Prideful. Self-conscious about his size.

Harold Nichols (35-50 / Baritone) An unemployed supervisor at the mill. Hot Metal's choreographer. Thinks his worth comes from providing for his wife, so he hides his unemployment from her.

Malcolm Macgregor (25-35 / Tenor with smooth falsetto) An unemployed mill worker. Lives at home with his mother. Depressed, suicidal, awkward, and feeble. Pigeon-chested. Finds comfort in Ethan.

Ethan Girard (25-35 / Baritone) An unemployed mill worker. Lonely. Has a blind determination and confidence to succeed. Finds company with Malcolm.

Noah horse T. Simmons (35-60 / Baritone) A retired mill worker. Embarrassed about being an average sized African-American man. Despite being slow when walking, he still has explosive dance moves. Sometimes grumpy.

Pam Lukowski (25-35 / Alto) Jerry's estranged wife and high school sweetheart. She wants what is best for her son. Strong business woman, but also compassionate and motherly.

Jeanette Burmeister (50-70 / Alto) A piano player of indeterminate years and show-business pro. Sassy, quick-witted, and larger than life. Has slowed down in recent years.

Georgie Bukatinsky (30-40 / Mezzo) Dave's wife. She loves her husband, and worries about him. Loud, outgoing and brash. She is the leader of her group of girlfriends.

Vicki Nichols (25-40 / Alto) Harold's wife. She enjoys the finer things in life. Loves her husband more than anything, and supports him no matter what.
