BREAKDOWN

KEVIN PRICE (18+ to play 18): A stereotypical male-identifying, Utah-based Mormon. Head of the class, always optimistic. Heroic Mormon. Pop-rock tenor to a B. At least 5’10 or taller.

ARNOLD CUNNINGHAM (18+ to play 18): Dweeby, Dorky. Arnold is a pathological liar, but his heart is in the right place. He is a total screw-up but not for lack of trying, he always wants to do the right thing. Tenor.

NABALUNGI (20): Black African Villager. Takes the hardships of her village very seriously and wants to help her people find a better life. Great comic timing. Strong Alto. Belt to an E.

MAFALA HATIMBI (40s): Black African Villager. Father of Nabalungi. Has come to accept the hardships in the village where they live but is a discerning community leader and tries to bring joy to their lives. Baritone.

ELDER MCKINLEY (18+ to play 18): District leader of the Mormon missionaries in Uganda. Like Elder Price, fits the stereotype of a male-identifying, Utah-based Mormon, wide-eyed and hopeful. High Baritone.

PRICE’S DAD / MISSION PRESIDENT / VARIOUS ROLES (40s): Like his son, fits the stereotype of a male-identifying, Utah-based Mormon. Doubles several roles from the perfect picture of a head of a Mormon household, to the stern missionary president, to Joseph Smith. High Baritone to an Ab.

GENERAL (Mid 20s – Early 40s): Black African Villager. Warlord in Uganda who is bothering the local villagers. An excellent physical presence with the ability to be authoritative and intimidating, but also comic. Baritone to an F.
