Preparation
Actors should prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues, the more naturalistic, the better. Each monologue should be under 2 minutes in length, for a combined audition of less than 4 minutes

TALLEY'S FOLLY by Lanford Wilson

Matt Friedman: Male. 40s, warm, charismatic, funny. Smart. Easy, self-depreciating demeanor. A good impersonator. Must be able to speak in a light German-Jewish accent.

Sally Tally: Early 30s, Upper-middle class, from Lebanon, Missouri, in the Ozarks. Matt's match in brains. She hides her fear and vulnerability behind a direct and unforgiving facade, but is not yet hard. Dreams of a life beyond Lebanon.
