SEEKING

Equity actors for various roles. Strong actors and actor-musicians are encouraged to audition.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a one to two minute comedic monologue that shows character. Those actors who play violin, woodwind, upright bass, piano, guitar, and percussion should prepare 32 bars of a Cole Porter, Gershwin, or similar style song on desired instrument.

BREAKDOWN

This is the endearing classic about a mouse named Stuart Little who is born into an ordinary New York family. All the charm, wisdom and joy of the E.B. White original are captured in this adaptation. The many adventures—both big and small—of Stuart Little are brought vividly to life in this story theatre presentation. The acting ensemble, comprised of actors and actor musicians, plays many human and animal roles telling the story of the marvelous maneuverings of a mild-mannered mouse trying to survive in a real people's world.

Actors who play violin, woodwind, upright bass, piano, guitar, and percussion are encouraged to audition.

Stuart
Male, 16 - 25 . Stuart is the adventurous protagonist! He is kind, flawed and brave. Stuart protects his friend Margalo, races a boat, drives a toy race car and is even a substitute teacher!

Margalo
Female, 16+. An injured bird that flies into the Little’s home. Stuart helps and later befriends her

Featured Ensemble
Male/Female, 14+. An ensemble of actors and actor musicians will play Narrators, humans (Mr. Little, Mrs. Little, George, Dr. Carey, Leroy, Harriet Ames, etc.) and animal characters (Snowbell, Tige, Malty, Babette, etc.) to bring to life the many adventures of Stuart Little.

Youth Ensemble
Male/Female, 6-9, An ensemble of actors to play school children, cats, and other roles in the production that will bring to life the many adventures of Stuart Little.
