CONTRACT

SPT Level 7; $510/week

SEEKING

Equity actor/singer/dancers for principal role and ensemble. All roles are open. Actors must be able to have great acting, vocal and movement abilities. Ensemble actors will understudy lead roles.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a 32 bars of a 70's or 80's pop/rock song. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together. Accompanist provided. Dance Callbacks are after the call. For the callbacks, wear clothing that shows off your body. Women, please have character shoes.

BREAKDOWN

TONY MANERO -(Male Tenor to A)
19, extremely handsome Brooklyn Italian. King of his circle. Projects machismo with a vulnerability beneath. Extremely charismatic. Believable Brooklyn accent, strong dancer with a killer pop/rock voice.

STEPHANIE MANGANO - (Mezzo with belt to D)
20, extremely beautiful Brooklyn Italian. Projects overconfidence and pretension but is really a simple girl trying to be more than what she came from. Must be genuinely likable. Believable Brooklyn accent. Killer voice and very strong dancer.

FLO MANERO -(Mezzo)
40 – 60. Tony’s Brooklyn Italian mother. Opinionated, devout Catholic. Movement a plus

FRANK MANERO SR./MONTY- (Bari-tenor to G with strong falsetto)
40 – 60, versatile actor/singer/dancer to play two roles. Monty – handsome womanizing, high-energy, DJ with a genuinely likable nod to 60’s free-spirited sexuality. Frank Sr. – Tony’s Brooklyn Italian, iron-fisted father who leads with bloated pride in the face of unemployment.

FRANK JR. - (Tenor to Ab)
25 – 30. Tony’s brother. Brooklyn Italian, genuine, paternal, spiritual energy. Believable Brooklyn accent, strong mover with a strong pop/rock voice.

BOBBY C - (Tenor to Ab)
18 – 20, awkward Brooklyn Italian. One of “the Faces” (Tony’s gang). Insecure and needy. A troubled soul who tries too hard. Believable Brooklyn accent, strong mover with a show-stopping pop voice.

ANNETTE - (Mezzo with belt to Eb)
18 – 20, attractive Brooklyn, Innocent, insecure, needy. She tries to mask her vulnerability with toughness. Believable Brooklyn accent. Strong dancer with show-stopping voice.

GUS - (Bari-tenor)
18 – 25. (Bobby C cover) cute Brooklyn Italian. One of “the Faces” (Tony’s gang). Bumbling klutz, a little befuddled. A follower. Believable Brooklyn accent. Strong dancer with good pop voice.

DOUBLE J - (Bari-tenor)
18 – 25. (Tony cover) handsome Brooklyn Italian lady’s man. One of “the Faces” (Tony’s gang). Genuinely tough guy, cocky, a criminal in the making. Believable Brooklyn accent. Strong dancer with a good pop voice.

MALE ENSEMBLE
Versatile dancers with excellent technique in Ballet and Jazz. Dancers to take on a variety of character roles and will also perform in a high-energy, aerial show. Must possess well developed, strong bodies to sustain rigorous demands of the program.

FEMALE ENSEMBLE
Versatile dancers with excellent technique in Ballet and Jazz. Dancers to take on a variety of character roles and will also perform in a high-energy, aerial show. Must possess well developed, strong bodies to sustain rigorous demands of the program.
