BREAKDOWN

SEEKING:

JULIET: 18- 25 years old. Any ethnicity, female. A tragic heroine. A youthful adolescent. Poised and passionate. Progresses from innocence to maturity. Classical theater and language skills.

ROMEO: 18- 25 years old. Any ethnicity, male. Loved and respected youth in Verona. Comic romantic. Becomes more intense and passionate as the play progresses. Classical theater and language skills.

MERCUTIO: 25- 35 years old. Any ethnicity, male. Odd and edgy. Feral. Quick-tempered, and a little bawdy. Talkative. Language skills.

THE NURSE: 45- 55 years old. Any ethnicity, female. Juliet’s nurse who acts as a confidante and messenger. Loving and affectionate. Very funny, but not a clown.
