Preparation
Please bring a picture and resume. Please prepare a 1 to 2 minute monologue from any of Shakespeare’s plays.

There will be no readings from the script at auditions. At callbacks, sides will be provided for readings from the script.

1st rehearsal: February 10, 2014.
Runs March 14, 2014 – April 20, 2014 (Thursday - Saturday evenings, Saturday and Sundaymatinees, select weekday matinees)

ROMEO AND JULIET, Shakespeare’s timeless classic, will be cast with age appropriate actors in keeping with the mission of Compass Rose Theater.

Breakdown

Compass Rose Theater is a professional teaching theater whose process is the creation of outstanding theater with a focus on discovery and learning. All parts will be cast as close to the actual ages of the characters in the story as possible. Actors must have a familiarity with classic language and an ability to move with grace and ease to suit the demands of the script.

Montague, Father of Romeo (age 35-45)
Capulet, Father of Juliet (age 35-45)
Romeo, Son of Montague (age 15-20)
Mercutio, friend of Romeo (age 15-20)
Benvolio, nephew of Montague (age 15-20)
Tybalt, nephew to Capulet (age 15-20)
Friar Lawrence, a Franciscan friar (age 30-50)
