For MUSICALS - Please prepare a song in the style of the show or from the show/role you are interested in. For PLAYS – please prepare a contemporary monologue. If auditioning for BOTH PLAYS AND MUSICALS please prepare ONE short song and ONE short monologue. Total audition time should not exceed 2 minutes.
All should Bring a photo and resume and your book of music if singing.

Richard Hannay (Male 29-42) – A dapper English gentleman, handsome, bored until he meets Annabella and becomes wrapped up in the adventure of a lifetime. Becomes a fugitive on the run trying to save his own life and foil the spy ring that is attempting to silence him. British dialect required. Any ethnicity.

Annabella Schmidt / Pamela / Margaret (Female 22-35) – versatile actress to play three roles; Annabella is a mysterious alluring German spy; Margaret is young, shy, sheltered, very pretty British wife of an older country farmer; Pamela is our spunky, independent, and very beautiful young British heroine. Any ethnicity.

Clown 1 & Clown 2 (Males, 25-50) – seeking two extremely versatile character males to share in playing some 150 other roles in the piece, must be playful and creative with sharp physical and verbal comic timing, must be adept with multiple European dialects. Any ethnicity.

Arthur Kurnitz (Male, 13 ½) – Goes by “Arty.” Younger brother to Jay. Not very smart on his feet and often comes across blunt

Eddie Kurnitz (Male, 41) – Father to Jay and Arty.

Bella (Female 30s) – Neat, sweet and pretty.

Grandma Kurnitz (Female, 70) – Eddie and Bella’s mother. A big woman, buxom, with a strong and erect body.

Louie (Male, 36) – Grandma Kurnitz’s other son. Not much of the hugging type.

Aunt Gert (Female mid to late 30s) – Another one of Grandma Kurnitz’s children

Lionel Percy (Male, 60s) – Art expert, well-traveled, elegant, refined, dressed in expensive clothes. Any ethnicity.

WANDA (18+) - A strong actress as well as singer. She carries the bulk of the dialogue and narration throughout the revue. She is a leader - strong, powerful and engaging. She must have the ability to interact comfortably with the audience.

JASMINE (18+) - She portrays Diana Ross of the Supremes as well as the lead singer of the Chiffons, Judy Craig. Sings songs One Fine Day, Where Did Our Love Go? Come See About Me, and others.

LAURA (18+) - Portrays Janis Joplin; Lulu and others. Sings songs Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, To Sir With Love, Piece of My Heart, Try, Me and Bobby McGee, and others.

ALLISON (18+) - Of the six actresses, Alison has the most lyrical warm voice. She sings songs Downtown, Where the Boys Are, Society's Child, You Don't Have to Say You Love Me and others.

PATTIE (18+) - Sings the songs It's My Party, You Don't Know Me, Wishin' and Hopin', A Natural Woman, and others.

GINA (18+) - Portrays Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and the lead singer of the Starlets. Sings songs I Sold My Heart to a Junkman,, A Fool in Love, Proud Mary, Respect and others.

THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (LORT B+)

Jimmy Smith – 20’s. Male counterpart to Millie. Self-assured and cocky. Jimmy is charming, a great singer, a reasonable mover and who has a good sense of comic timing. Jimmy should be attractive in a cute, goofy sort of way. Bari tenor.

Millie Dillmount – 20’s A spunky, modern woman trying to make it in New York City who falls in love with Jimmy. Must sing,dance and tap very well . Comedic timing and physical comedy important.

Mrs. Meers – 40 + A former actress turned human trafficker pretending to be a kindly Chinese woman. She oversees the Hotel Priscilla where she secretly sells her tenants. The villain of our story with great comedic timing.

Muzzy Van Hossmere -40+ A glamorous actress and singer at a night club. Millie's friend and mentor. Magnetic and graceful with a wry sense of humor. A cross between Pearl Bailey and Josephine Baker.

Trevor Graydon -30’s An executive at the Sincere Trust Insurance Company and Millie is determined to marry him. He is sharp, ambitious, goofy and secretly romantic. Baritone.

Bun Foo – mid – late 20’s A Chinese immigrant working to bring his mother to the United States. Older brother of Ching Ho and henchman to Mrs. Meers. Bun Foo can be played by a boy or a girl. Must sing, dance and speak - all in Chinese. High Baritone

Ching Ho – late teens – early 20’s A young, male, Chinese immigrant working to bring his mother to the United States. Younger brother of Bun Foo and henchman to Mrs. Meers. Must sing, dance and speak - all in Chinese. Baritone

Miss Dorothy – 20’s A naive, wealthy girl who has moved to New York to change her lifestyle. She is attractive, a good actress and becomes Millie's roommate and confidant. Legit soprano to high C with good comedic timing.

Miss Flannery - Indeterminate age. An uptight, stern office manager. She runs the stenographer pool at Sincere Trust Insurance Company. Strong belt and tap.

Georges (Male, 45-60) - Solid baritone; a show-man and emcee of the nightclub; suave, very personable, very attractive, renowned for his physique as a younger man, and madly in love with his partner of 20+ years, Albin; deeply in love with his son and would move mountains to give him anything he wants; moves well, energetic, and a kind and loving man. Any ethnicity.

Albin (Male, 40-55) - Baritenor; the charismatic, overly dramatic, and dynamic personality in the long term relationship with Georges; his alter ego is Za Za, a star in St. Tropez and a force to be reckoned with when crossed, but his love of family and his ability to entertain makes him a most beloved friend, confidant, and mother; requires a performer with star quality who is mature and possesses a great powerhouse of a Broadway voice; a fine comic actor. Any ethnicity.

Jean-Michel (Male, 20-25) - Baritenor; a handsome, well-mannered, educated guy desperately in love with his financé; must be charming to a fault and seemingly innocent enough that his actions of offending his fathers does not seem calculated, but a misstep initiated by his fear of losing Anne; must move well. Any ethnicity.

Anne (Female, 20-25) - Beautiful fiancé of Jean Michel; kind and sweet, a seemingly perfect daughter-in-law; emotionally, she appears a bit confined by the conservative morals of her politician father, yet she is her own person when not in his presence; must be able to dance and sing (mix belt).Any ethnicity.

Jacob (Male, 25-30) - originally played by an African American, can be any ethnicity; the butler/maid with a flair for the ridiculous; campy, over the top; aspires to be on the stage, full of zest; very protective of his extended family; requires a brilliant comic actor who sings and moves well. Any ethnicity.

Mr. Renaud (Male, 50-59) - the owner of the town's sea side cafe; sturdy, strong, and very accepting; will cover one or both of the leads. Any ethnicity.

Jacqueline (Female, 40-50) - the hostess of the top restaurant in the town; has the ability to make anyone feel like they are part of her family; very theatrical; loves people and especially enjoys bringing people out of their shell; can light up the room. Belter. Any ethnicity.

Edouard Dindon (Male, 50-59) - Anne's father; a very conservative, right wing radical politician; very opinionated and bigoted; a skilled character actor; pompous and quirky with a great sense of comic timing. Baritone. Any ethnicity.

Mme. Dindon (Female, 50-59) - Anne's mother; the quiet wife; always in her husband's shadow; rarely asked to voice an opinion; sexually repressed and sex starved; conservative but appears in a leotard at end of show; character actress with a great sense of comedy who can move well. Soprano. Any ethnicity.

Francis: (Male, 35-45) – The stage manager. Is smitten with Hanna from Hamburg. Great comic skills. Any ethnicity.

Rachel Marron (Female, 18-45) – an Academy Award-nominated music superstar who is being stalked and sent death threats. She needs to sing in the style of Whitney Houston and move well.

Frank Farmer (Male, 21-45) – Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard. Athletic, instinctive, good looking and charismatic. Any ethnicity.

Nicki Marron (Female 21-45) – Rachel’s older sister, a very talented singer who has taken a back seat to her sister’s rising star. Quiet type but attractive.

Fletcher (Male, 11) – Rachel’s young son.

The Stalker (Male, 21-45) – Rachel Marron’s stalker, military type, weird, outcast. Any ethnicity.

Sy Spector (Male, 21-60) – Rachel’s uptight publicist. Any ethnicity.

Bill Devaney (Male, 30+) – Rachel’s manager. He has looked after her from the start, runs her career and always has her best interests at heart. Any ethnicity.

Tony Scibelli (Male, 21+) – Rachel’s security. Kind man who is incredibly protective of Rachel. Any ethnicity.
