BREAKDOWN
RIPCORD
by David Lindsay Abaire.
Rehearses May 7-24, runs May 25-June 17.
ROLES AVAILABLE
Abby Binder: 60-70, a resident of Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, she has successfully resisted all attempts to share her double room. Judgmental, short spoken, misanthropic and unsociable, she is a crisp, take-charge patrician woman with an acerbic wit; nobody wants to be her roommate. Her snark and emotional remoteness is a defense against her pain of lifelong disappointment.
Benjamin/Lewis/Clown: Male, 30-49. Benjamin is Abby's son-reclusive and shy; rough around the edges; a former addict who has let down a lot of people in his past, and he is genuinely hoping to make amends and introduce his child to his mother; he’s been in and out of rehab before, so she will not let him off the hook easily. Lewis: Marilyn's son, an enthusiastic skydiving instructor; knowledgeable and lively. Clown: An actor in a haunted house who plays a scary demon clown that tries to steal and eat a baby.
Scotty: Male, 20-39. He is kind, friendly, empathic, patient, honest and direct, with a good sense of humor. He genuinely cares for his residents and is perceptive in a street-smart way about their personalities. In his free time, he is an aspiring actor.
Colleen/Woman in White: Female, 30-49. Colleen: Marilyn's caring daughter, married to Derek. A bit kooky, perky, bright, sunny light-hearted comic type. Competitive, game for anything, especially if her mother asks and needs her; she’s an open book; very much her mother's daughter. Woman in White: A spooky haunted house character who is trying to save her baby from the Clown.
Derek/Zombie Butler/Masked Man: Male, 30-49. Derek: Colleen's other half, a quirky comic type, friendly and chipper but more cautious and practical than his wife. Zombie Butler: The absurdly austere tour guide of the haunted house tour. Also plays the Masked Man.

THE LAST CIGAR
by Bengt Ahlfors (North American Premiere).

Ragnar: 60’s to early 70’s (THIS ROLE IS CAST). Gregarious, retired school principal, smokes and drinks, despite the protestations about the implications for his health by his wife Anneli.
Lars: 60’s to early 70’s (THIS ROLE IS CAST). The town pastor and Ragnar’s best friend, with a bit of the rebel in him, evidenced by his arrival via motorcycle.
Anneli: 60’s to early 70’s. Ragnar’s wife, the former town librarian, she’s now confronted with increasingly dealing with Ragnar’s poor health choices and trying to avoid being a shrew, while also negotiating her own passions.
Monika: Mid to late 30’s, Lars daughter, a photographer by trade, with a crumbling marriage and a young daughter. She’s come back to her home town to try and figure out her future.
