[ADAM] 28, male, any ethnicity/race (strong singer - rock tenor). A recovering alcoholic musician who uses aggression and apathy to cover up his bubbling insecurities and codependency underneath.
[BRYAN] 26, male, any ethnicity/race (strong singer - rock tenor). A young eating disorder patient in the ward with a snarky yet welcoming personality. He is the “glue” of the patients. When presented with an opportunity to move on, he grows afraid that without him the ward will fall into chaos. Former acting student.
[KENDRA] 26, female, any ethnicity/race (strong singer - mezzo/contemporary sound). Calls it as she sees it, and sees through the bullshit. Diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder (BPD), she uses her past trauma to shield the vulnerability underneath.
[MELINDA] 24, female, any ethnicity/race (strong singer - soprano/contemporary sound). The youngest member of the unit, both in age and cognitive function. Debilitated by schizophrenia, her ties to this reality are somewhat unstable, though she longs to be in control again. A former dancer (movement/dance abilities a plus).
[DR. CARLIS] 40s, male, any ethnicity/race (rock baritone). The clinical resident psychiatrist of the ward. While he’s sometimes sarcastic and cold, he does everything in his power for his patients’ well being and healing.
[MARGOT] mid 30s to mid 40s, female, any ethnicity/race (mezzo). The patient and hard-working head nurse of the ward. She cares deeply, almost acting as an empathic sponge to help the healing process. But under her huge heart is an even bigger bite and fire, willing to do anything she can to fight and advocate for her patients.
[THE FACELESS/Ensemble] 20s-30s, any ethnicity/race, all gender identities. A vaudevillian “Greek Chorus” of inner personalities. The personified embodiment of intrusive thoughts. (Excellent singer/actors with strong physical/dance movement/musical theatre abilities.)
