Due to the nature of the resident company of the CORST contract, many actors will be used in more than one show.
Please prepare a short, contemporary monologue appropriate to our season. If auditioning for MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, please also prepare a brief cut of a song and accompany yourself on an appropriate instrument. (If auditioning for Dyanne, an accompanist will be provided on Monday 12/4.)

California, 1980
Herb - (40s-50s) Not very successful Hollywood writer with perpetual writer’s block. Big on heart and humor. Short on the skills needed to reconnect with his estranged daughter.
Libby - (19) A strong, high-spirited girl from New York, who hitchhikes across the country to “be in pictures.” Her actual motive is to connect with her estranged father. She has an energy, vitality, and sharp sense of humor. (Possible NY dialect)
Steffy - (40s) A single-mother, with a positive, comforting energy whose on-again, off-again relationship with Herb is starting not to be enough for her.
THE ANGEL NEXT DOOR - by Paul Slade Smith

Newport, RI, 1948
Charlotte Sanders - (40s-60s) A successful Broadway playwright. Smart, resourceful, optimistic. Oliver Adams - (early 20s) A young novelist. Sweet, sincere, full of promise, still unsure of himself.
Arthur Sanders - (40s-60s) Charlotte's husband and co-playwright. A pessimist to her optimist, delighted to be her foil.
Olga Molnar - (40s-70s) The Housekeeper. Has a nebulous Eastern European accent. An unabashedly unhelpful servant
Margot Bell - (mid-late 20s) A Broadway singer and actress easily cast as the ingenue, but realizing she's wiser and stronger than the characters she plays.
Victor Pratt - (mid-late 30s) A Broadway leading man - and an idiot. Impressively self-involved and, in his mind, the handsomest, sexiest, manliest man on Broadway. Always a beat behind.

Sam Phillips - (30s) The Father of Rock 'n' Roll and founder of Sun Records; a towering and charismatic figure in American music. From Alabama.
Dyanne - (20s) An aspiring singer. Elvis’s girlfriend. Strong singer. Confident and assertive. Brother Jay - bass, older brother of Carl Perkins

MARY’S WEDDING - by Stephen Massicotte.

Canada, England, and France - 1920 & 1914
Mary – (20s) Recently arrived in Canada from England. She is a dreamer and a romantic, also strong and intellectual (In dream, the same actress also plays Gordon Flowers - Charlie’s superior officer and companion in battle)
Charlie – (20s) Works on his father’s farm. He is brave and determined, but also vulnerable. Becomes a soldier with a Horse Regiment in WWI.
THE STRANGER - Agatha Christie

England, 1930s
(All characters use RP other than one or both housekeepers - could be Irish, Cockney, etc.)
Enid Bradshaw - (20s-30s) Not content with her current situation living a staid life. Looking for adventure.
Doris West - (20s-30s) Enid’s friend and roommate. A bit of a romantic. Supportive and protective of Enid.
Dick Lane - (30’s) Hasn’t yet found his confidence. Sincere, honest.
Gerald Strange - (30s-40s) - a confident, charming man who looks like someone who has lived an outdoor life. He has a rather disarming manner.
Mrs. Huggins - (40s-70s) Housekeeper. Has cheerful pessimism (Doubles Mrs. Birch).
Mrs. Birch - (40s-70s) Severe, humorless housekeeper. She has none of Mrs. Huggins’s cheerful pessimism (Doubles Mrs. Huggins)
