SEEKING

Equity actors for Native American roles in PUEBLO REVOLT by Dillon Christopher Chitto, and upcoming workshops by Native playwrights to be named (see breakdown).

Background check will be required by the University for all actors and production crew.

COVID protocols will be determined by public health risk at the time of any in-person event, and all participants will have advanced notification.

Rehearsals, tech, and three previews at the University of Portland’s Mago Hunt Center. Production transfers to Native Arts and Culture Foundation’s performance space for additional tech, two previews, and three week run.

Pueblo Revolt will be produced at the University of Portland, and the Native Arts and Culture Foundation, in Portland, Oregon. Workshops of other new plays by Native writers will be in Portland, Oregon between July 1, 2023 and June 30, 2024,

titles/dates/locations to be determined.

BREAKDOWN

None of the roles will be understudied.

PUEBLO REVOLT:

Feem Whim – Native American (Isleta Pueblo), younger brother, late teens/early 20’s. Gay, idealistic, has a huge crush on the Spanish baker’s son. Socially awkward AF.

Ba’homa – Native American (Isleta Pueblo), older brother, late 20’s, straight. Caretaker to his kid brother. Inexperienced revolutionary. A tic tac toe shark.

Possible roles include:

Native females/femmes who would be placed in a high school girls' boarding school dorm, 18+ to play 17-18. Ability to speak Navajo a plus.

Native woman, 30s-40s, unable to pass for white.

Native woman, 30s-40s, able to pass for white.

Native woman, 50s, Alaskan Native.

Native man, late 20s-early 40s.

Native man, 50s-60s, Alaskan Native.

Native people who sing, all ages and genders

Native people who speak Lakota.

Native people who speak Seneca or any of the Haudenosaunee languages.

Native people who speak Navajo.
