Based on Charles Dickens fable about a starving orphan in 19th century London, the play tells the rags to riches story of goodness rewarded and thievery and wickedness punished. Lionel Bart’s musical score includes world famous songs such as “Where is Love” and “As Long as He Needs Me.” A professional cast will be rounded out by Compass Rose students who are incorporated as full members of the production.

Oliver Twist: (Age Range 10-15) a workhouse boy of 13 years
Mr. Bumble: (Age range 40-60) A large pompous man of 55
Mr. Sowerberry: (Age range 40-60) the Undertaker
The Artful Dodger: (Age range 15-20) Fagin’s brightest pupil - an undersized 18
Fagin: (Age range 30-50)an elderly receiver – runs training academy for young pickpockets
Bill Sykes: (Age range 20-40)a villain in his prim
Mr. Brownlow: (Age range 40-60)An old gentleman of wealth and breeding
Workhouse boys & Fagin’s boys: Girls or boys ages 7-12
Nancy: 23 years old – a graduate of Fagin’s academy, and Bill’s doxy
Bet: A 13 yeaer old lass in Fagin’s establishment – idolizes Nancy
Widow Corney/Mrs.Bedwin: A sharp-tongued, domineering widow of 50/the Brownlows housekeeper
