PREPARATION
Please prep (2) one-min contrasting monologues or (1) one-min monologue and 16-32 bars of a pop/rock song or contemporary musical theater song. An accompanist will be provided. Audition must not exceed three minutes in total. Have sheet music organized and picture/resume stapled or glued together.

Tony Award–winner Daniel Sullivan, one of the most important Shakespeare directors working today, returns to the Globe to take on the Bard’s thrilling history play. The year is 1415, and the young and reckless Prince Hal has left his wild partying days behind and matured into sober and thoughtful kingship. He defies the insults of the French royals and rallies a ragtag group of English soldiers to sail across the English Channel on a long-shot invasion of the mighty kingdom of France. Full of action and the electrifying language that marks Shakespeare at his height, Henry V is an unflinching look at warfare and power, and a rousing portrait of courage against all odds.

The Age of Aquarius dawns again! It’s the Summer of Love, and a group of young Americans are looking to change the world! Directed by James Vásquez (The Old Globe’s American Mariachi and Tiny Beautiful Things), this legendary rock musical bursts onto the Globe stage with its Grammy Award–winning score featuring iconic hits such as Let the Sunshine In, Good Morning Starshine, and the exuberant title song. Make love, not war!—and celebrate harmony and understanding with Broadway’s first great rock musical. For mature audiences.

Berger: A social activist recently banished from high school. An unrestrained animal. He knows what is right and sticks to it no matter the consequence. The leader of the tribe. High energy, athletic, wild. Strong presence and, though he may be a young man, he is looked up to. Any ethnicity. Rock baritone/tenor.
Claude: The most beautiful beast in the forest. Smart, attractive male, with a playful side, and a lover of life. Berger's best friend, recently drafted whose only valuable possession, other than his freedom, is his hair. A charismatic leader that women adore, boys emulate and men will follow into the breach. A man of conscience who struggles with the conflict of what his heart tells him is right and what the authorities around him lead him to believe. Any ethnicity. Rock tenor.
Sheila: A second semester student and passionate protester from NYU who lives with Berger and Claude, aspires to spread love. The most intelligent of the tribe. Wants to change society through peaceful protest. Not necessarily perfect on the outside, but must have a strong voice and presence. Any ethnicity. Rock alto/belter.
Woof: May not want to admit it but he is gay. A young animal. High energy, versatile performer. Must be a natural with comedy. Looks up to Berger and Mick Jagger... in many ways. Rock baritone/tenor.
Hud: Speaks his mind and hopes you can keep up with him. High energy, spiritual performer with a strong voice and presence. A true tone setter that is a natural on stage in any situation. African-American. Rock baritone.
Jeanie: A follower, not a leader. Incredibly sweet, understands Claude better than anyone. Wise, passionate, creative woman, who is pregnant with the tribe's baby. She has taken every drug, and takes care of the tribe. Any ethnicity. Alto.
Dionne: Sassy and lots of fun. Great with comedy and ad-lib vocals. African-American. Alto/mezzo belt.
Crissy: a flower child mourning a lost love - The youngest female of the tribe. Any ethnicity. Mezzo.
Tourist couple: Two male performers, strong comic timing. One must be willing to appear as a believable woman, while the other is her miserable husband. Doubles as tribe members.
Tribe members: This is not a chorus, as the entire cast is a true ensemble. Tribe members sing many featured songs including Aquarius, Black Boys, White Boys, Walking in Space, Electric Blues, Hippie Life, etc., and play many roles in the show including the PRINCIPALS, MOTHER/FATHER, historical figures, and more. Energetic, creative performers with heart and passion. Any ethnicities. Strong rock vocals.

Tony Windice: a retired, British tennis pro now selling sports equipment, likes the finer things in life, but cannot afford them. His solution is to have his wealthy wife murdered. A self-assured schemer who thinks he's plotted the perfect crime. Of course, he's wrong.
Margot Windice: Tony's British wife, beautiful and wealthy. She and Tony's marriage has not always been strong, but she foolishly thinks it is going well now. She's wrong--almost dead wrong. Her true love is Max.
Max Holiday: a New Yorker who writes for television crime shows, loves Margot, expressing his love in letters that Tony discovers and uses to blackmail his wife. Max is determined to exonerate Margot when she receives the death sentence for murdering Lesgate.
Captain Lesgate: also known as C.A. Swann, Adams, and Wilson, is three years older than Tony and attended Cambridge at the same time he did. He is a thief and a murderer, and Tony convinces him to murder his wife for a thousand pounds. The plot fails, and Lesgate is murdered instead.
Inspector Hubbard: intelligent policeman who solves the crime.
Thompson: a police constable working under Inspector Hubbard.
