Equity musical theatre performers for various principal roles and chorus parts in the upcoming 2015 Season Shows.

These auditions are open to Equity members only. Directors for 2015 will NOT be present at these auditions.

Preparation
Prepare a brief musical theatre song or pop song which best shows your personality and abilities. Bring sheet music, in the correct key, as an accompanist will be provided. (no monologues please.)

Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together.

Other Dates
NC Theatre will also hold EPAs and ECCs for 2015 shows in NYC TBA/TBD.

Show specific auditions with director present will be held in the future in NC and NYC, TBA/TBD.

BILLY
10-13. Need Major ballet dancer with strong tap skills; Must sing very well, cannot have a broken/changed voice; quiet, reserved, tough, a bit of a lost boy searching for his place in the world; while taking boxing lessons (which he’s not into) he stumbles upon a dance class and discovers his life’s passion; dancing gives him a voice all his own and electrifies his world.

MRS. WILKINSON
Late 30s–Early 50s. Billy's dancing teacher. Excellent singing voice. Great energy, drive, determination, warmth, compassion. Doesn't suffer fools gladly. Good comedic skills. Must tap & be a strong mover/dancer. (OFFER OUT)

DAD
40s-50s. Billy’s dad. Leading actor. Must sing. Geordie miner. Working class. Single parent. Narrow-minded. Tries to do the best for his family. At the end of his tether. Feels sorry for himself. (OFFER OUT)

GRANDMA
50s-70s. Must sing. Good dance or movement skills. Tap if possible. Good comedy skills required. Character actress.

TONY
20s. Billy’s brother. Geordie miner. Excellent actor with strong singing voice. Outspoken. Loud, macho, up for a fight.

MICHAEL
10-13. 5’ or under. No broken voice. Billy’s best friend. Tap dancer. Very strong actor/singer/dancer.

DEBBIE
9-12. Max height 4’8”. Some ballet experience. Strong acting role. Also dances with Ballet Girls.

GEORGE
Billy’s Boxing teacher. Geordie miner. Late 30s–50s. Excellent comedy skills. Friend of Dad’s. Spokesman of the miners. Community spirited. Working class. Singing not essential. No tap required.

Men need to be physically big, burly, out of shape & possess great stamina. To play miners, officials, parents, friends, etc. Ability to cover principle roles. Good minor roles and cameos to come from ensemble.
