PREPARATION
Prepare short song. Bring picture and resume stapled together. Actors should be prepared to cold read or dance, if the character warrants. Callbacks, if warranted will be the evening of August 26 2017.

Popper's Pengiuns: This is a TYA contract and 4 week sit at Casa Mañana Theatre from September 16 - October 15, 2017 with a U.S. Tour beginning November 29, 2017. There is a Lay Off March 30 - April 6, 2018. The tour resumes until April 30, 2018. Must be available for both. Rehearsals for Santa Claus A New Musical start on/about November 13, 2017. Performances of Santa Claus A New Musical are at Casa Mañana Theatre, November 24 – December 23, 2017

ACTOR 1: Male, plays 20-45. Actor 1 plays Mr. Popper. He dreams of being an explorer! Mr. Popper is the main character of the show. Seeking an actor who can sing and move well with puppet experience.
ACTOR 2: Female, plays 20-45. Actor 2: Mrs. Popper/ Chorus 3/ Mrs. Callahan/ Balloon Seller/ Lollipop Lady/ Mother/ Operator 2/ Earhart. Seeking female who can take on many roles and move well. Experience with puppets highly encouraged.
ACTOR 3: Male, plays 20-40. Actor 3 - Chorus 1/ Dog Walker/ Neighbour/ Delivery man/ Captain Cook/ Operator 3/ Vet/ Darwin/ Shackleton/ Greenbaum. Must be able to move and sing well. Actor will also need to puppeteer. Seeking actor who can play multiple roles. Experience with puppets is highly encouraged.
ACTOR 4: Female, plays 20-40. Actor 4: Chorus/ Admiral Drake/ Girl with Kite/ Neighbor/ Dog Walker/ Scooter Child/ Policeman/ Operator 1/ Scott/ Greta/ Soprano/ Miss Anastasia. Seeking actress who moves and sings well.
Santa Claus - a fun loving rock n' roll Santa who is looking to take his talents to Hawaii and enter a much deserved retirement. Baritone.
Mrs. Claus - Santa's better half with a heart of gold and a hint of sass. Mezzo/mix belt.
Nicholas - A bumbling single dad who Santa has chosen to train as his replacement. Late 20s to early 30s. Baritone/Tenor
Beatrice (Bee) - Nicholas' daughter. A smart, confident young woman who helps her dad find faith in himself and Christmas. 12-14. Mezzo/mix belt
Henchy - Santa's once trusty head Elf whose resentment of Santa's choice for a replacement causes him to step into the bad side. Male or Female of any age. Tenor or mezzo/mix belt.
Elves - A Chorus of happy Elves with tons of Christmas spirit. Looking for great singers who move well.
