PREPARATION

For musical audition: 32 bars of a song, 1 contemporary monologue (60-90 seconds). For non-musical audition: 1 contemporary monologue (1-3 minutes). Please note, an accompanist will only be available from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Please bring headshot/resume.

FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS (50s-70s) High-society woman in the early 20th century who believes herself to be an accomplished opera singer but in fact has minimal vocal ability. Is always sincere and authentic—never a caricature. Funny, and must be able to sing well enough to sing badly.
COSME MCMOON (40s-50s) Loyal accompanist to Florence Foster Jenkins. Has his own musical aspirations and frequently clashes with Florence. Possesses elegance and grace but also a hard, sarcastic edge. Extremely competent pianist.
