MARY - female, early 40’s, any ethnicity. She is a successful radiologist in a prestige hospital. Mary dresses in business appropriate flattering timeless clothes - she has a classic, simple and elegant style. Her hair and make-up are always the same - tasteful and super quick and easy. She is organized and focused. She is head-strong and insecure. Compensates for being serious by being warm. A working single mother.
ASHLING - female, 40’s to 60’s. Ashling looks to be in her early forties. She moves like an ex-dancer with a fluid energy and relaxed easy comfortable vibe. She is very self-possessed; confident; self satisfied. She takes up space in the room. She wears long dresses that resemble old fashioned night gowns with thin straps that expose her back and shoulders - layers of thin, soft delicate fabric - and on top, over-sized large cozy sweaters that hang off her shoulders, cowboy boots or ballet flats. Her hair is always down - it's long and hangs forward around her shoulders and down her back with short childlike bangs. She has tattoos. She smiles and laughs easily and often. She wears a heavy body musk scent. Sometimes her eyes glaze over and it's hard to tell if she is still listening or even in the room. A career nanny.
LUCY – female, 5 to 8 years old, any ethnicity. A will-full and bright child, she likes any kind of imaginative play, loves people, and is very attached to her mom. First seen coloring with her nanny, she likes the Beatles song she’s singing and joins in quietly. She later smiles brightly and lets her mother know she likes soup. But as the relationship between her mother and nanny strains, she starts to cling to her mother, whining and crying about needing help and finally wailing when her nanny tries to take her to school.
