Videos should be shot in landscape framing and sent in a non-downloadable format – private YouTube link, Vimeo, etc. Please email your video submission along with your headshot and resume. Show Description: Based on Letters from Max, a Poet, a Teacher, and a Friendship, MacArthur “Genius” Fellow and two-time Pulitzer Finalist Sarah Ruhl adapts her tender and inspiring correspondence with her late student, the poet, Max Ritvo. A powerful intertwining of dialogue, poetry, and ritual, Letters from Max follows the journey of a professor and her talented student as they grow and learn from each other. World Premiere.

SEEKING:

MAX: He/Him, 20-25, any ethnicity. An undergraduate student with a gift for poetry and a terrific facility for and appreciation of language. A magic soul possessed of a wild sense of humor, and an original and inventive flair for the absurd. Emotionally open and receptive; drinks in the world, and art, and others. Faced with a recurrence of an aggressive cancer, MAX juggles writing and school responsibilities with chemotherapy. Through his relationship with Sarah, he is a student who becomes a teacher.

DANCER: Any gender, any age, any ethnicity. Non-speaking role. A participant in the aid and care of the performers and performing space. A mediator of physical space and a story facilitator.

SARAH: CAST. She/Her, 35-40, any ethnicity. A professor at Yale University who teaches playwrighting. A teacher who becomes a student.
