SEEKING

Equity/Non-Equity male and female actors, 18 and older

PREPARATION

Two 32-bar cuts in the style of LEGALLY BLONDE. Bring sheet music in your key. Accompanist will be provided. Bring one current photo and resume, which will be retained by Cain Park.

EPA Procedures are in effect for audition.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of audition.

BREAKDOWN

Elle Woods - Female, 20s. Stereotyped by society as the quintessential “dumb blonde,” she follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more to offer than just a pretty face and a bubbly personality. Must be a true triple threat actor, singer, dancer. G5-Gb2 belt

Margot, Serena, Pilar - Elle’s 3 best sorority girlfriends, always ready to pop in and help Elle; must dance well, G#4-F5 belt

Emmett Forrest - Male, late 20s. A smart and sensitive law student who takes Elle under his wing. He is charming, quirky, loveable, and friendly. A4-B2 Paulette - Female, 30s/40s. A brash, caring, optimistic hair stylist who is friends with Elle and longs to find a man for herself. A5-A3 belt

Professor Callahan - Male, 40s/50s. A pompous, sleezy and manipulative law professor at Harvard who is highly successful, but completely immoral. F#4-A2

Warner Huntington III - Male, 20s. A good-looking but shallow and pompous guy who breaks Elle’s heart and heads off to Harvard Law. Ab4-Eb3

Vivienne Kensington - Female, 20s. A smart, savvy, and uptight law student and Warner’s fiancee who initially dismisses Elle, but grows to be her friend. F5-A3 belt

Brooke Wyndam - Female, 20s/30s. An exercise video mogul who is also a former sorority girl. She is energetic and charismatic, yet currently on trial for murder. G5-A3 belt

Enid Hoops - Female, 20s. A strong, opinionated feminist law student at Harvard. Should have strong comedic timing. G3-G5 belt

Ensemble - Greek Chorus; Students; Delta Nu Members; Retail Employees; Parents; Professors

Bruiser - Small dog (under 12 lbs) who easily fits into a bag, can be carried in the bag for several scenes without causing disruption onstage. The dog should be comfortable around large groups of people and have a gentle disposition. Preferable if the dog is a chihuahua and can bark on cue.
