BILLY & RAY
1st Rehearsal: 9/13/16, Runs: 10/5/16 - 10/30/16
BILLY WILDER: Male, 35-45. Huge writer/director in Hollywood, from Vienna. Has a slight Austrian accent. Lights up the room wherever he goes, always with a martini in hand. As funny as he is confident. Hyper, restless and incredibly charming. Actor must have fantastic comic timing.
RAY CHANDLER: Male, 50's. Billy Wilder's polar opposite. Famous mystery writer, highly educated, quiet, holds his thoughts to his chest. Drinks secretly. Actor must have great comic timing delivered in a dry fashion.
JOE SISTROM: Male, 30's. Polished and charismatic producer for Paramount. Under pressure from the studio, constantly looking over his shoulder. Cultured and well read.
HELEN: Female, 20's. Billy Wilder's secretary. Smart, clever, charming, dresses very well. She is no nonsense and very aware of everything going on around her.

KING OF THE ROAD: THE ROGER MILLER STORY
1st Rehearsal: 3/28/17, Runs: 4/19/17 - 5/14/17
ROGER MILLER: Male, Caucasian, plays 30 yrs and 50 yrs old. Mercurial, charming rogue, torn by inner demons. Sings and plays guitar. Vocal range: Baritone/2nd Tenor (G an octave and a 4th below middle C to G above middle C)
YOUNG ROGER: Male, Caucasian, 18yrs. Plays Roger as a young man, and later as his alter ego. Innocent and restless young man trapped in Erick, Oklahoma, bitter and wise as he torments Roger from within. Sings. Vocal range: Tenor/2nd Tenor
THUMBS: Male, 35-50 yrs.The virtuoso lead guitar player in Roger's band, and Roger's sidekick and reluctant enabler. He's a clever and loyal good ol' boy. Vocal range: Tenor/2nd Tenor
JERRY: Male, 35-50 yrs. The drummer in Roger's band. Loyal to Roger, and very adept at feeding him setups to punchlines. Vocal range: Tenor/2nd Tenor
DAVID: Male, 35-50 yrs. The bass player in Roger's band. Inquisative, dry wit, an enabler of Roger's off-the-wall humor. Vocal range: Tenor/2nd Tenor
RANDY: Male, 35-50 yrs. The piano player in Roger's band and would-be Music Director. Brilliant musician, but a bit naïve and clueless. Vocal range: Baritone/2nd Tenor
WOMAN #1: Female, Caucasian, plays 30 yrs and 60 yrs. Background singer in Roger's band. Also plays MELVA, yoiung Roger's cousin who raised him; an earnest YOUNG REPORTER; LEAH MILLER, Roger's embittered and angry second wife; and LAUDENE, Roger's hapless and naïve mother who abandoned him as a child. Vocal range: Alto with an A below middle C up to a Bb or C above middle C (belt)
WOMAN #2: Female, Caucasian, 25-30 yrs. Background singer in Roger's band. Also plays a giggly, flirty MAKEUP GIRL on Roger's TV show; BARBARA MILLER, Roger's naïve and embattled first wife, and MARY MILLER, Roger's third wife, singer with Kenny Rogers & The First Edition, who rescues Roger from himself. Mary is sophisticated and self-reliant. Vocal range: Alto with an A below middle C up to a Bb or C above middle C (belt)
