Equity actors for roles in Kennedy Center's 2024-25 TYA Season (See breakdown).
Actors will be signed on as Actor/ASMs.
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.
Please prepare a comedic, contemporary monologue, no longer than 90 seconds. For those actors wishing to be considered for a musical, you must also prepare 16-bars of a standard musical theater song. An accompanist will be provided. Also, please bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

SYNOPSIS: This world-premiere commissioned musical chronicles the coming-of-age journey of Finn, a young shark who dreams of following in his family’s footsteps by joining the prestigious Shark Guard. Set against the stunning backdrop of the deep ocean, the musical weaves together a dazzling array of charming sea creatures and catchy tunes. As Finn negotiates the challenges of growing up and following his heart, the musical takes us on a magical journey of self-discovery, friendship, and adventure.
Six versatile male/female/non-binary actors: 18+.
Note: This play is still in development and the roles/descriptions above may change upon completion, although we know it will be a diverse ensemble in terms of age, gender, and ethnicity. All actors in this production should be strong singers and movers; the ability to read music is a plus.

SYNOPSIS: This piece explores the theme of flight, centered around the journey of a young Navajo female protagonist. This production will be part of the TYA BIPOC Superhero Project, a new initiative led by playwright and educator José Casas.
Main characters: One 18+ female of Navajo descent
Four 18+ male/female/non-binary actors to play a variety of ensemble parts

Developmental Readings - TBD Resident Productions for 2025-2026 Season One-Week Per-Performance Tier I Contracts: $15/hour; $140.50 per performance.
Exact Dates to be determined, although the program generally holds three to seven Developmental Readings a Season.

SYNOPSIS: This story was going to begin like all the best stories. With a school bus falling from the sky. But no one saw it happen—they were all too busy. Washington, D.C.-area native, New York Times best-selling author, and Kennedy Center Next 50 leader Jason Reynolds conjures 10 stories (1 per block) about what happens after the dismissal bell rings. 10 blocks. 10 unique tales. There’s something for everyone across these 10 vignettes about identity, compassion, fear, and friendship—as told through puppetry, dance, music, projections, audience participation, kamishibai (paper theater), and more. This faithful stage adaptation of Reynolds’ award-winning book (Carnegie Medal, Coretta Scott King Author Honor Book, National Book Award for Young People’s Literature finalist, and more) encourages audiences to look both ways not only when crossing the street, but also when acknowledging the people walking by.
Three versatile male/non-binary actors and three versatile female/non-binary actors: 18+ to play a variety of middle/elementary age ensemble parts.
