CONTRACT

TYA $522.25/week and $118.50/performance (see breakdown for shows under PP)

SEEKING

Equity actors and singers for various roles in the upcoming 2018-19 TYA seasons.

Actors will be signed on as Actor/ASMs.
Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

PREPARATION

All actors must prepare a comedic, contemporary monologue, no longer than 90 seconds. For those actors wishing to be considered for a musical, you must also prepare 16 bars of a standard musical theater song.
Piano accompaniment will be provided.

This world premiere Kennedy Center commission is about a boy who loved stars very much. He loved stars so much that he decided to catch one for himself. The boy tries everything he can think of to reach the stars, but nothing seems to work. Just when he is about to give up, he realizes that things aren’t always found where we expect them to be. For audiences ages 4 and up.

Based on the book by Oliver Jeffers; Director Jared Mezzocchi, Composer Zak Engel,
November 20, 2018 - December 21, 2018

This world premiere Kennedy Center commission for actors and a 15-18 piece jazz ensemble is based on a Newbery Medal and Coretta Scott King award-winning book by Christopher Paul Curtis. For audiences ages 10 and up.

This play is still in development and the roles/descriptions below may change upon completion, although we know it will be a diverse ensemble in terms of age, gender, and ethnicity. Breakdown below:

Main character: 18+ male to play a 10 year old boy.

Seven versatile male/female actors: 18+ to play a variety of ensemble parts.

(One-Week Per-Performance Tier I Contracts: $118.50 per performance.)
Exact Dates to be determined, although the program generally holds three to seven Developmental Readings a Season.
