E – male, African-American, 18, sensitive and not always comfortable in his own body. He doesn’t
know how to be a man.
CHEKY – male, African-American, 18 or 19, E’s best friend. Outgoing, flirtatious and pretty much
liked by everyone.
NEESY – female, African-American, mid 20s, E’s older sister. Fiercely intelligent, but has a deep
fragility within and a strong fondness for alcohol.
WANDA – female, African-American, 40, E and Neesy’s mother. A little jaded, dark sense of humor
and used to struggling.
JACQUES – male, African-American, upper teens/early 20s Cheky’s cousin. Has some anger issues
and a great fashion sense.
BOSS – male, white, middle-aged and nervous
VAGRANT – middle-aged and not altogether stable, African-American
MAN – male, white, mysterious, bit of a cipher (age is unimportant)
RAT/VOICE – male, 20s-50s, trickster, ethnically ambigious/grey
