SEEKING

Equity actor/singers and singer/dancers for various roles and ensemble.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a brief contemporary musical theater or rap song in the style of the show fitting the role you are most interested in. You may sing from the show. Bring sheet music if applicable, in the correct key, as an accompanist will be provided. Please bring a picture and resume, stapled together and your Equity card.

No non Equity performers will be seen at these EPAs. IN THE HEIGHTS auditions for non Equity actors as well as Equity actors will be held in Raleigh, NC in June. Date and details will be posted soon under the “Auditions” tab at https://nctheatre.com/page/working-nct.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

USNAVI DE LA VEGA: Owner of De La Vega Bodega, Latino. Strong actor, excellent rapper/singer, good mover. High baritone/tenor.

NINA ROSARIO: A freshman at Stanford University, Latina. Strong, high belt, excellent mover.

KEVIN ROSARIO: Nina's father, owner of Rosario's Car Service, Latino. Strong actor-singer who moves well. Baritone.

CAMILA ROSARIO: Nina's mother, co-owner of Rosario's, Latina. Singer/belter, Actor who moves well.

BENNY: Employee of Rosario's, African-American. Strong singer, rapper and excellent mover. Tenor.

VANESSA: Works at the Salon, Latina. Strong, high belt, excellent dancer.

SONNY: Usnavi's teenage cousin, Latino. Comic actor, good rapper, excellent mover.

ABUELA CLAUDIA: Raised Usnavi, though not his blood grandmother, Latina. Strong belt.

DANIELA: Owner of Daniela's Salon, Latina. Comic actress with strong belt, excellent mover.

CARLA: Works at the Salon, Latina. Comic actor with strong belt, excellent mover. Mezzo.

GRAFFITI PETE: An artist. Extremely strong dancer, acrobatics a plus, rapper/singer.

PIRAGÜERO (PIRAGUA GUY): Scrapes piraguas from his block of ice. Bright, soaring tenor.

ENSEMBLE: Residents of Washington Heights, Latino (a) and multi racial men and women age 18+. Strong singer/dancers.
