Male and Female Singers. Please see breakdown. Contracts will be considered for all roles.

Preparation
Please prepare a song in the style of the show (standards and songs from The Great American Songbook preferred; nothing contemporary). Please bring headshot and resume.

Breakdown

Fanny – 20’s/early 30’s. Entertainer from New York’s lower east side. Quirky. Fearless. Comedic Finesse. Acting range from impassioned teen to major star. Good mover.

Mrs. Brice - 50ish. Tough Brooklyn/Jewish mother. Dry funny.

NICK ARNSTEIN – 30’s. Baritone. A gambler and the love of Fanny’s life. Suave, sophisticated, and charming. Must have a strong middle range voice.

EDDIE RYAN - 25 to 35 years old. A song and dance man and Fanny’s closest friend. Must be a strong singer/dancer who taps. Good comic timing. Bright. Energetic. Sincere.

MRS. STRAKOSH - 40 to 60 years old. Mrs. Brice’s poker playing crony. strong, Shrill. Yet funny.

MRS. MEEKER - 40 to 60 years old. Another of Mrs. Brice’s cohorts. Also a comedienne.

MRS. O'MALLEY - 40 to 60 years old. The 4th in Mrs. Brice’s quartet of friends. Irish accent.

FLORENZ ZIEGFELD, JR – 60’s. The famed Broadway producer. This is a non-singing, non–dancing role. Elegant and distinguished. Imposing. Resonant. Distinguished. The producer of the Ziegfeld follies.

TOM KEENEY - 40 to 60 years old. A tough Vaudeville producer who gives Fanny her first break.

EMMA - 25 to 40 years old. Fanny’s dresser and confidante. The voice of reason, meek yet strong. May double in the Ensemble.

ZIEGFELD TENOR - Sings The Most Beautiful Bride In The World. High production style tenor. Any age. Must double in the Ensemble.

MR. RENALDI - A theatrical agent. Middle aged. Urbane. Looking for someone with strong acting skills. Must double in the ensemble.

Ensemble men (2) - 20’s-50’s. We are looking for men of all types that are excellent actors with great voices. Must move well. Additional roles, etc will be cast from this group.

Ensemble male dancers (5) - Must be strong singers and dancers (must tap). Additional roles, etc will be cast from this group.

Ensemble Women (4) - 20’s-50’s. We are looking for women of all types that are excellent actors with great voices. Must move well. Additional roles, etc will be cast from this group.

Ensemble Female Dancers (3) - Featured singer/dancers (must tap) at Keeney’s Music Hall. 18-30 years old. Additional roles, etc will be cast from this group.

Ziegfeld showgirls (4) - Must be tall and statuesque. 5'8 or taller. 18 to 35 years old. Must double in the ensemble and dance well (must tap).
