| Breakdown
A west coast premiere about the relationships and conflicts within a classical string quartet preparing for their 10th anniversary concert, when a rock star asks for music lessons. Egos, loyalty, and love are all put to the test in this witty and moving play about music and musicians.
JONNY - 30s. The Rock Star. Honest, kind, giving, earnest, serious, certainly the most normal person we see in the play. At a turning point in his career, he asks for music lessons from the female cellist in the quartet, and ends up falling in love with her. Must be able to play the guitar and sing, fairly well (he sings a portion of a love ballad he wrote for the cellist, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar.)
This contract does not offer health insurance weeks, but the producer does make pension contributions. There are no guaranteed performances for understudies.
