Character Breakdown:

Emcee (Male Identifying, 20s-40s, Any Ethnicity, Tenor) a hilarious, sexually ambiguous master of ceremonies. He moves the story along and peppers the show with musical interludes. Speaks with a German accent.

Clifford Bradshaw (Male Identifying, 20s-30s, Any Ethnicity, Bari-Tenor) An American. A budding, and somewhat closeted homosexual novelist searching Europe for inspiration for his next novel. Upon reaching Berlin he quickly gets entangled with its underground party scene and political climate. Speaks with an American accent.

Sally Bowles (Female Identifying, 20s-30s, Any Ethnicity, Mezzo-Soprano) A transient English second rate cabaret singer living in Berlin. She entangles herself with Clifford and they begin a fated relationship. Speaks with a British accent.

Fraulein Schneider (Female Identifying, 50s-60s, Any Ethnicity, Alto) The owner of a boarding house in Berlin. She rents rooms to several of the show’s characters. Speaks with a German accent.

Herr Schultz (Male Identifying, 50s-60s, Any Ethnicity, Tenor) A Jewish fruit-stand owner and the love interest of Fraulein Schneider. Speaks with a German accent.

Fraulein Kost (Female Identifying, 20s-30s, Any Ethnicity, Mezzo-Soprano) A prostitute living and working in Fraulein Schneider’s boarding house and often at odds with Schneider. Speaks with a German accent.

Ernst Ludwig (Male Identifying, 30s – 40s, Tenor) An up and coming political figure in the Nazi political party. Speaks with a German accent.

ENSEMBLE (Any Gender, 20s-30s, Any Ethnicity, All vocal ranges) Strong singers/dancers. Will play various roles throughout the show as well as the Kit Kat Klub performance ensemble.
