BONNIE AND CLAIRE (PLAY)

A funny and heartwarming new play about two sisters who reluctantly reunite after a forty-year separation.

Rehearsals begin: week of April 13th, 2020
Performance run: May 15th- June 7th, 2020

(There are 2 AEA contracts expected to be offered among available roles)

SEEKING:
BONNIE begins the play as a woman of 63. She is tough and hard-shelled, with an acid humor. She tends to assume that things can and will get worse.

CLAIRE begins the play as a woman of 61. She is Bonnie’s younger sister; vivacious, exuberant, demonstrative. She is the half-full to Bonnie’s half-empty.

ZOE begins the play as a woman of 19. She is Bonnie and Claire’s niece, the daughter of their brother. She is forthright and insightful; she doesn’t miss much.

The play and its characters move through about 14 years, from 1988 to 1994 to 2002; therefore:

ZOE’s age goes from 19 to 25 to 33
BONNIE’s age goes from 63 to 69 to 77
CLAIRE’s age goes from 61 to 67 to 75
