gragland@artshhi.com. Leave name, number and choice of audition times. Times will be confirmed by phone. Equity Members without appointments will be seen throughout the day as time permits.

Prepare 32 bars of a song either from or in the style of the show. Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose. Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

Dance callbacks are after the call. Wear clothing that shows off your body. Women please have character and tap shoes.

RENO SWEENEY

(30 – 45ish) female mezzo with strong belt. A sexy, leggy, BEVELING nightclub singer and former evangelist. Must be a strong tap dancer and command the stage with Comedic star power. “YOUR BASIC LEADING LADY”

HOPE HARCOURT

(19 - 29) female soprano. A wealthy, beautiful Debutante heiress, who is willing to marry to satisfy mother’s wishes. She has an endearing sense of humor, grace, poise and sparkling focus. Partnering and taps skills are needed.

EVANGELINE HARCOURT

(45 – 60ish) female. Hope's widowed mother who, is mainly concerned with social status and money.

Must Scream Rich and play BROAD comedy. Tap helpful and should be able to carry a small dog.

LORD EVELYN OAKLEIGH

(Mid 30s-40s) Baritone. A Wealthy, often bumbling, Englishman engaged to Hope. Seeking an actor with an excellent upscale British accent and honest comedic skills who is comfortable singing and dancing with clown-like movement. Basic tap dance is also helpful.

ELISHA WHITNEY

(45 – 65) male. A successful Ivy league Wall Street banker/business tycoon. Extremely near-sighted and a gloriously functional drunk. Huge personality with basic tap dance skills.

BILLY CROCKER

(30 – 39ish) Sexy, physically fit. Romantic leading male tenor. - He is Whitney's kind but inefficient general manager who is in love with Hope. (A scraper and a survivor) Must be charismatic and have comedic timing in silly situations. Ballroom and Tap dance skills needed.

MOONFACE MARTIN

(45 – 59) male tenor. A loveable gangster. Very interested in climbing up the “most wanted” ladder. Wily and quick-witted, yet somehow just this side of gullible. Strong comedic timing required. Must be able to sing and move well. (a physical VAUDEVILLIAN) Some basic tap skills needed.

ERMA

(23 – 35) female mezzo. Traffic-stopping dame/dumb-as-a-fox blond., She can cause men to have “accidents”. She must be fresh and enjoyable in spite of her brazen ways, and be willing to play broad physical comedy. Lovably clueless, “joysey” accent. Tap dance and Good Showgirl poise a must.
