Breakdown

Scrooge:
(50-70): Bitter; hardened around a deep wound. Sharp-dark witted; he enjoys his capacity for cruelty, as it keeps peo
ple (hurt) at a distance.

Marley/Old Joe:
(50-70): A ghost; a tortured soul; condemned to an eternity of regret. / A cobbled-together street-dandy. “He has the wild eye of a madman.”

Mr. Fezziwig/ The Ghost of Christmas Present:
(40-50): Stout and jolly; devilishly good-natured; easy to like./Joyous pagan. Possesses a brilliant, boisterous and infectious cheer.

Cratchit:
(35-45): a very decent and good family man and husband; overworked, underpaid but grateful. Full of caring; puts on the best face possible. Loves his children. Honors Christmas in his heart.

Mrs. Cratchit/Charwoman:
(30-40): A loving mother and wife, making the best home she can for her family. No fan of Scrooge./ An old hag. Pale. Roughed up by her circumstances but full of energy and ferocity

Mrs. Fezziwig/ Undertaker’s Woman:
(40-50): Plumb “pink” and cheery; “one great substantial smile.”/ An old hag. Humpbacked and full of energy and ferocity.
