Leapin’ lizards! The popular comic strip heroine takes center stage in one of the world’s best-loved musicals. Annie is a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan, the funniest villain this side of a Disney cartoon. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil schemes, befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and finds a new family and home in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

BWW Review: ANNIE at Urbandale Community Theatre: This Production Will Leave You 'Fully Dressed' With A Smile
July 20, 2019Everyone can remember the first time they saw Annie. Maybe it was on stage, or maybe it is one of 3 film/tv versions that have come out. No matter when you first saw it, it probably became one of those shows that stays with you for a long time. The show's optimistic message is one that has stood the test of time and remains relevant still to this day. On July 19, Urbandale Community Theatre opened their production of "Annie" and when you come to see the show, as the song says, "I think you're gonna like it here."
