ObcTheater Southern California Regional Premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND

When a distraught young girl discovers a wounded man hiding in her barn, his startled first words are “Jesus Christ”. Believing all her prayers have been answered she vows, along with the town’s children, to protect the Man from the world outside. Meanwhile the townfolk are determined to find a murderous fugitive hiding in their midst. Fantasy and reality collide to reveal that prayers are answered but not always in the way you expect. This musical partners renounced rock lyricist Jim Steinman and Andrew Lloyd Webber to create a score inspired by the sounds of the American South, blues, gospel, country and rock ‘n roll.

Hailed as “Webber’s best show since Phantom” and “a terrific, superb musical” which it first premiered in London, Whistle Down the Wind is a gorgeous production that will inspire as well as excite and keep you coming back for more.

Starring James C Mulligan as The Man, James Ellis as Boone, Savannah Sanabia as Swallow, JT Lowry as Amos, Makenna Heliker as Candy, Ciena Fitzgerald as Brat and Porscha Sanabia as Poor Baby with a stellar cast from all over Southern California.

Obctheater’s Creative Team for this production includes Amanda Kalkanis (Director/Music Director), Nancy Gettinger (Costume & Scene Design), James Heliker (Technical Director), Steve Caster (Sound Design) and Melissa Allen (Production Stage Manager).
