Zorba the Greek, with music by Mikis Theodorakis, is based on the novel by Nikos Kazantzakis published in 1946. Later, in 1964, the film starring Anthony Quinn and Alan Bates, winner of three Oscars and genesis of music was released that today is a symbol of Greek culture; and finally this ballet was performed.
The Municipal Theater of Santiago is Chile's oldest cultural center and one of the most important stages of America. It is recognized internationally for its opera seasons, ballet, symphonic and chamber music and theater.
It was inaugurated on September 17, 1857 with the opera Ernani, Verdi, with installation by an Italian company. Since its inception, the theater developed an extremely relevant to the development and dissemination of culture activity.
