Broadway & Film Star Austin Pendleton Stars In GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS At Beck Center

Beck Center for the Arts is ecstatic to announce Austin Pendleton (My Cousin Vinny, The Muppet Movie, Finding Nemo, and Actors' Equity Association member/AEA), will play the role of Shelley "The Machine" Levene in Beck Center for the Arts' production of David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross. William Roudebush, a former Artistic Director of Beck Center directs this production of Glengarry Glen Ross, 1984 Pulitzer Prize winner and 2005 Tony Award Winner for Revival Play. The New York Times states, "'Glengarry' was built for speed. Much of the beauty of this play comes from its revved-up rhythms."

In addition to Mr. Pendleton, this production boasts a stellar line-up of regional talent including Andrew Gorell (AEA, graduate of Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA in Acting Program), Brian Pedaci (Act of God, King Lear at Beck Center for the Arts), Chris Damico, Chris Bohan (AEA), Stuart Hoffman, and John Busser (the long-running Flanagan's Wake). With scenic design by Cheri DeVol (Texas State University), lighting design by Trad A. Burns, costume design by Inda Blatch-Geib, and sound design by Carlton Guc and Angie Hayes, this piece to life on the Mackey Theater stage.

Set in New York City, an office of real estate salesmen finds out some of them will lose their jobs by the end of the week if they don't hit the desired sales numbers. Glengarry Glen Ross, stands strong today, showing us where capitalism is a battle of toxic masculinity you suit up for every day while imbibing a Red Bull with a side of comic bluster.

This limited engagement of Glengarry Glen Ross runs September 13 to October 6, 2019 in the Mackey Theater as part of the 86th Professional Theater Season. David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross contains an extraordinary amount of profanity used by these characters. It could definitely be rated "R for explicit language." Please be forewarned! This show is not suitable for children, or anyone squeamish about "bad" language.

While in Northeast Ohio Mr. Roudebush is offering a special opportunity for local actors--a six week course based on his acclaimed book Acting By Mistake, starting Monday August 5th. Tuition is $300 for the session. This class is offered in NYC for $600. Beck Center is pleased to bring it to Northeast Ohio at a 50% discount, making the course $300 per participant. Class size is limited to 9 students for maximum hands-on experience.
