Three Brothers Theatre Announces Cast And Creatives For PROOF

Three Brothers Theatre announces casting and creatives for David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Proof.

The cast features Rob Frankel as Robert, Angelina Mussro as Catherine, Scott Myers as Hal, and Sarah Bright as Claire.

Dramatist Play Service Synopsis: On the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday, Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, a famous mathematician. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a burgeoning romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness-or genius-will she inherit?

Director Barbara J. Anderson comments: "In the play there are so many fascinating relationships and themes to explore, particularly the family relationships between father and daughter and siblings (sister to sister). The theme of self-discovery is vital to all the characters in the play, even the deceased father, Robert. Since mathematicians look at a mathematical proof as a "discovery" rather than a "creation," the development of a mathematical proof--which is at the heart of the play--is actually a metaphor for the quest for self."

The creative team includes Amy Cole (stage manager), Nicci Schumacher (scenic designer), Liz Cooper (lighting designer), Caroline Beadle* (costume designer), Josh Beadle* (executive director). *Denotes Three Brothers Ensemble Member
