Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) presents Boston Theater Marathon XXI, featuring 50 ten-minute plays, written by 52 New England playwrights, and produced by 50 New England theatres in ten hours.

Founded in 1981 by Nobel Laureate Derek Walcott, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre is an award-winning professional theatre dedicated specifically to new works for the stage. At the core of our five programs is our MFA in Playwriting, offered as part of Boston University’s renowned English Department and in collaboration with the School of Theatre. Our award-winning alumni have been produced in regional and New York houses as well as in London’s West End, and have garnered city, regional, and national awards including Elliot Norton and Independent Reviewers of New England Awards for Outstanding New Script.
