About Boston Theater Company
Boston Theater Company is a 501(c) (3) non-profit dedicated to preserving the messages and historical language of classical scripts while approaching them in a contemporary way. We do this with our professional productions and our education program. BTC’s education department revolves around the belief that theater and creative drama can unlock a child’s creativity, confidence, and penchant for collaboration. We are dedicated to gender blind casting. As such we reassign gender roles when the right person is cast. We preserve the text by never rewriting it. We reassign lines to different characters and rearrange the order. We morph together roles to tell the full story with fewer characters. BTC consists of a team of young Boston based artists who are passionate about collaboration, classical text and creating art in fresh ways.
